I LIVE HERE NOW [editor]
Julie Pacino’s psychological thriller ‘I Live Here Now’ draws you in and never lets you escape. [Fantasia] - August 2025
“I Live Here Now is one of the best feature debuts in some time, creating a world of unease balanced by a brilliant performance that is clearly influenced by some of the best directors and storytellers who have dived into surrealism and out-of-body experiences in their work. There is nothing easy about I Live Here Now, and it doesn’t hold back its punches. It is amplified by the engrossing performances, and simply everything in the film is brilliant, making it one of the year’s best and most moving movies. Whatever Julie Pacino has in store next is going to be an easy sell if its delivers on even half of what I Live Here Now delivers.” - Justin Waldman, Elements of Madness
“Although the filmmaking pops visually and there are impressionistic parts that live in surreal territory, Pacino was deliberate in ensuring that the film’s “dream logic” is sound… [She] knew the best way to express herself in the film was a strong visual style, so she was able to enhance the horror and moments of campy humor with bright colors that popped as a result of shooting in 35mm.” - William Earl, Variety

'Madu' Film Review - March 2024
"The style of the documentary is “fly on the wall.” Filmmakers Matthew Ogens and Joel Kachi Benson include occasional interviews with Anthony and his parents but no talking head experts. Cinematography by Charlie Goodger and Motheo Moeng is intimate and lyrical, with contemplative music that contrasts with the classical pieces accompanying the dance lessons and performance. An opening scene shows us Anthony dancing near a fire, his movements in the flickering light showing the fiery spirit that impels him. Near the end, he is on the beach, wading into endless water stretching all the way to the horizon, indicating the larger, more centered sense of himself and his passion for ballet made possible by access to teachers and other dancers, and a sense of possibility." - Nell Minow, RogerEbert.com
'Madu' to open Santa Barbara International Film Festival '24 - January 2024

“Speaking on the success, Mumbai-born Agrawal said, ‘I am incredibly grateful for the response to 'Pleats'. It was important for me to tell a story that sparked a conversation about topics still considered taboo in India, like infidelity and queerness, and it is an honor to see my film connect with audiences in the US and India alike.’” - Madhu Balaji, New India Abroad
